Watch Horror Movies To Help Put You In The Mood For Halloween!

Halloween Horror MoviesHalloween is just around the corner, and possibly your kids are starting to get really excited and are already planning on what costume to wear this Halloween, but what if you’re just not getting into the the whole Halloween thing? Then you should consider watching some horror movies – they’ll get your blood rushing and will also give you some great costume ideas too!!

There seems to be an adrenaline rush that we get when we are scared, and horror movies are a great way to spark this rush. Horror films have been around for decades, they go back to the 1920’s, but they seem to keep getting better and scarier!

Personally, I don t need to see a lot of blood and gore to be freaked out by horror movies. Sometimes the less I actually see and the more that is left to my imagination, then more freaked out I get. The element of surprise is also something that is a huge attraction for me – I love not knowing what’s going to happen next, I’m not fond of predictable movies, where you can guess what’s coming up next, a good twist makes a great scary movie!

Horror Films

Everyone’s taste in horror movies is different, we all have different things that scare us, but whatever your taste might be, it’s easy to find one that appeals to you. Obviously, you can find the newer movies still in the theaters, and the older ones are now out on DVD and can be found for a very good price at many online stores, but one I really like and use a lot is TurnerClassicMovies.com.

Halloween is probably one of the greatest horror classics of all time. If you haven’t seen this film, then you’re really missing out. The plot is as simple as a psychotic lunatic pursuing a teenage girl. It’s really quite frightening. One of the really great things about many of the old classic horror movies is their simplicity. They don’t usually possess an intricate plot like some of the more modern ones, but they can still scare the bleep bleep out of you!

Some more famous horror movies include the slasher flicks like Nightmare on Elm Street, The Fog, The Howling and Terror Train. There’s just something about the terror and suspense of these movies. Sure, they can be gory, but still, they’re fake at the same time. If you’re want to get into the Halloween mood, then these ones are a must see. You can find them at pretty much any local video store.

Ideas For How To Host A Vampire Theme Party

If you are thinking about hosting your own vampire theme party, then you may find these suggestions useful to help you acquire the right dark, mysterious, sinister and sexy atmosphere…

draculascoffin2When you invite your guests, ask them to dress up as vampires, vampiresses, bats, or vampire victims. (You can suggest they visit PlusSizeVampireCostume.com for some great ideas!)

You want to make your home look dark and mysterious, so drape all windows and glass doors with black fabric. Also drape mirrors with red or black cloth, remember vampires have no reflections!

You can make a homemade coffin and place it in the corner of the room. This is easy to do – get 4 large cardboard boxes of the same size, cut 2 sides off of each box, then tape the boxes together with packing tape in a long row to represent a makeshift coffin.

You can then paint it with brown paint to make it look more authentic and then stand it up where all can see it. If you are feeling artistic, you could paint a Dracula on the lid of the coffin.

Next you should hang rubber bats from the ceiling at lots of different levels, and don’t forget to put some at eye-level too!

For drinks, serve a red punch, red wine, and for food, serve rare bloody steaks, and an idea for dessert could be vanilla ice-cream with red food coloring drizzled on it.

Have a candelabra as the centerpiece for your table and have many more candles alight all around your home to give that eerie feeling.

If you have a TV in the room, you could put on a classic Vampire movie like the 1931 Dracula movie, it’s in balck and white and will add to the eerie effect.

You can replace the regular light bulbs in your lamps with red colored bulbs which will help to enhance the “vampish” atmosphere.

Use red and black helium filled balloons around your home.

You can bake a coffin-shaped cake and ice it with black icing (the recipe is available at Halloween Online) – that would make a great conversation piece .
